SKETCHBOOK REVIEW

Hello everyone. Here is my short review of the Sketchbook Designer aka. Alias Sketch. (I have no idea what the difference is)
First thing I have to say: Why the heck is it not possible on my Mac to rotate when I press the spacebar and I cant change the brush size with B. On the PC are the shortcuts no problem. I hope it is not my old Macbook Pro the reason and they fix it.
Lets start with the UI (user interface). It's OK. Some icons look a little bit old and retro to me but I think this is the Autodesk style way.

The rest of the interface is clean and looks a little bit like an iPad app.
You can work with two different kind of layers (yeah with layer effects). Vector or Paint. To work on a paint layer is like working with Sketchbook Pro. It's the same feeling for me just with some more features. I think the special part is to rework the sketch with the vector layers. At the beginning it was strange but you can make really cool stuff with it and change everything you want again. Its a nice way to work with vectors and easier to use the benefits of them. Short conclusion: It's a powerful tool with some small bugs.  If I find some more cool and awesome feature I'll post them here and let you know.
If you want to try it just go on the Autodesk Page [HERE] and the students can download a free version of Alias Sketch [HERE].
